Heron connection with the ways of this magnificent feathered creature.

Part of the connection is the balance of male/female energy. The heron engages in solitude and a meditative stance in, or near, water when fishing and I relate to this as the feminine and more internalized action of feelings and being. When a heron begins flight with it’s large powerful wingspan, this is very much male energy and the external action of doing. Combined energies in one’s self equals balance, which we all aim for, whether male or female . “There is no such thing as a one-sided coin!”

Herons do not dilly-dally when in flight. They have a purpose and a destination and usually fly that direct path. This is a big connection to the self-discovery involved in my life coaching work, B. All Enterprises and “Be All You Can Be” slogan and workshops.

Herons nest together in communities called rookeries. Being in community, groups and retreats is a large part of my life and the intention for Heron Haven. I felt drawn to herons also because of my very strong magnetic pull to water.

Herons have a distinctive call, and I interpret it as a message to stay focused on the path or flight necessary to reach a destination, goal, dream or purpose.
